Alex Kamenetskiy is currently leading Munich Re Ventures (MRV) through the steady winding down of operations and management of its $700M+ portfolio over the next 1-2 years.

Alex brings a rare blend of investment judgment and operating leadership developed over more than a decade building and scaling a leading global corporate venture capital platform. At Munich Re Ventures, he served as the Managing Director, COO & CFO, where he managed the firm’s day-to-day operations, financial management, and investment processes, while also serving on the investment committee. He played a central role in shaping the firm’s long-term strategy, and evolving the team and platform to operate with the discipline and performance orientation of top-tier institutional venture firms. This included building out tools and processes at the forefront of technology, leveraging AI for operations and investment activities. His recent responsibilities also focused on a full spin-out assessment and fundraising readiness, including a full data room, financials, pitch deck, etc.

Prior to Munich Re Ventures, Alex held senior finance leadership roles at The Climate Corporation, where he led global finance across revenue, operations, and supply chain. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Monsanto, including 3 years with Monsanto Growth Ventures (MGV) as one of the founding members.

In parallel with his current role at MRV, Alex advises emerging venture platforms and corporate venture capital teams on fund strategy, operating model design, and scaling or spinning-out high-performance organizations.

He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
